Spector was regarded as a good fit for the game, as he had previously produced immersive sim classics such as Deus Ex and Thief, but he doesn't seem to be working on the game any longer. System Shock 3 was initially announced back in 2015, with the project going into production under Warren Spector and his team of veteran game developers, Otherside Entertainment. A recent interview with Warren Spector himself, however, revealed something new about its ongoing production. Elsewhere, Hogwarts Legacy will be taking center stage in another State of Play show set for later this week.Though not much is currently known about System Shock 3, other than the fact that it is, indeed, being actively developed by one of Tencent's game development studios, the franchise's considerable following is eager to learn more about the project. In other news, EA is currently hiring for several positions at their new Seattle studio, which is currently developing a “rich and dynamic” AAA third-person open world action RPG. There is “going to be a lot of variety in what you can do and what we ask you to do”. Otherwise, all we know is the game has “an immersive world and engaging narrative that players will directly impact through their choices and playstyles”. Admittedly the image above showing a whale in ornate gold armor is fairly unique.

OtherSide is now working on an “all original” game. A few months later, Otherside announced Tencent would be “ taking the System Shock franchise forward”, although the new publisher has never elaborated on what that might mean exactly. This was closely followed by a series of layoffs as most of the key people involved in the project left the studio. Development on the game ceased in 2019, Spector explained in an interview with VentureBeat.
